Arthur Veno is dual citizen of Australia and The United States. Until high school, he was raised in France and several other European countries as the son in a US Army family. His education was at the prestigious University of California, San Francisco where he took his Ph.D. in Social Psychology with minor papers in Criminology. The success of his academic career is marked by numerous awards and honors, the most recent, being a Distinguished Contribution Award form the Australian Psychological Society in 2007 for his social action research with 1% outlaw motorcycle clubs in Australia. He currently is affiliated with Monash University in an honorary capacity as he left the ‘hallowed halls’ of full time academic work to turn to writing popular books in 2001. He is the author of over 100 academic publications and two highly significant non-academic books. The first appeared in 2003 and was titled The Brotherhoods; Inside the Outlaw Motorcycle Clubs, published by Australia's Allen and Unwin. It is widely acclaimed as one of the more objective and least biased of all biker books with the exception of Daniel R. Wolf’s work titled The Rebels: A Brotherhood of Outlaw Bikers. His most recent book is The Mammoth Book of Bikers, published worldwide in 2007 by England's Constable & Robinson.
